Lackland---- Air Force Base |
In October 1948 I was sworn into the USAF at Dayton Ohio,
I arrived at Lackland
AFB at San Antonio Tx. Three days later.
There we were transported to the base where they immediately took all our civilian
clothes,
issued us military outfits, shaved out heads, and gave is shots in both
arms.
Thus began my military career of 3 years, 9 months, & 29 days...

In 1963 I was employed by Lockheed Aircraft at Burbank Ca. as a machinist in the legendary
Skunk Works.
There I helped manufacture parts for the U2 Spy Plane, as well as the development and
manufacture of what ultimately became the SR71 Blackbird.
In 1969 I was transferred into the the data processing department as a computer programmer
associate.
In 1973 I was promoted to Data Processing Coordinator where I was in charge
of the maintenance
of all shop order writing systems. I remained in that position until I left the company in 1978.
