Any further activity on the following recordings are anyone's guess,
but I assume that Garland's son Clint Frady will inherit all control on his music. I am not currently in contact with Clint but should be able to contact him if anyone would like.
This album was produced in 1973 by Mike Nesmith of Monkies fame for Countryside Records, but due to management problems the company was dissolved and the album titled Pure Country supposedly was never released.
However I recently found out that Countryside Records said that 31,000 were sold
before they shut down, so there could have been many more copies pressed.
The master tape has recently been, remastered, and remixed to digital format, the resulting quality of this CD is phenominal and sounds as if it were recorded yesterday. If you like real country you'll love this CD.
Garland Frady has always been recognized by his peers as a great artist but never made the connections to superstar status. He was the featured vocalist for many years during the 60's, and 70's at the famous Palomino Club in North Hollywood Ca. and performed on stage with all the famous artists of that period. He has also toured Europe and was featured on Willie Nelson's first Jam session in Texas.
Now if that was'nt enough the musicians on this CD is a list of who's who in
the Los Angeles area during that period
