First Three Generations of TIPTON's in America.
Jonathan Tipton III, known as Maj. Jonathan, had 3 sons who migrated to Estill County
Ky., after 1797, John stayed until around 1830,s and moved on to Missouri where he
froze to death, William and Samuel remained and their descendents are still prominent in the area today.
The TIPTON's of Estill County Kentucky
This Tipton web page would not be possible without the gigantic efforts of many genealogists of
the past, and while i'm sure there are many that I am not aware of I would
like to at least thank the ones
I know about ie. The late Whitney Hord Tipton, of Mt. Sterling Kentucky spent more than 30 years of his life
researching more than 1400 families plus publishing a book in 1948.
The late Ervin Charles Tipton
,
spent many years and published the well known 1564 page book "We Tipton's And Our Kin", Plus the works
of Charles Brunk Heinemann, Worth S Ray, Scott Lee Boyd, Seldon Nelson and, Lyman Draper.
I have not had the pleasure of viewing the personal works of many of these genealogists but I believe that our lives have been enriched immensely by their efforts.
If anything on any of these pages brightens your day or enhances your life in any way, then my efforts have
not been in vain.
